Mirrors | When art becomes a journey… ✨
It's not simply a decorative object
It is a fragment of a journey, an echo of distant lands, a reflection of the soul.
"There is a certain magic in bringing an idea to life. It all begins like a whisper, a fleeting moment of inspiration - sometimes born from a place visited, a texture touched with the fingertips, or a scent that transports me to another time. I love this delicate dance between memory, matter and imagination."
As I prepare to unveil my “Mirrors to the World” collection, I take you to the heart of its story — born from the meeting of two worlds: Mexico and Ivory Coast.
The Spark of Inspiration
It all started during the Covid era.
I remember those days when every news story brought its share of tragedy. Confined and vulnerable, we sought escape. A few countries remained accessible. So, we took a plane.
Off to Yucatán, Mexico - a land located 800 km from my native Jamaica, where I immediately felt… at home.
The warmth enveloped me like a rediscovered old friend. There, the air seems to whisper the secrets of ancient Mayan civilizations.
The cenotes, those natural wells of hypnotic beauty, reflected the sky with an almost unreal clarity. It was there that the idea was born: what if my mirrors were not simple objects… but portals to other worlds?
The raw textures of the stones, the geometric patterns of the temples, the light filtering through the jungle… all of this has nourished my future creations.

An Echo from West Africa
But the collection could not be complete without the imprint of Ivory Coast, a land that I carry deep within me.
There, cowrie shells are not just ordinary seashells. They are sacred symbols of prosperity, spirituality, and protection. The gilded details of my mirrors, on the other hand, pay homage to Baoulé weights, testaments to ancestral craftsmanship and timeless elegance.
Thus, two worlds engage in dialogue within my creations:
-
Yucatán offers light, raw power, memories of an untamed nature.
-
Ivory Coast brings its soul, its symbols, its spiritual beauty to it.

The Final Touch: An Inner Journey
Each mirror in the “Mirrors to the World” collection is more than just a reflection.
It's an invitation to explore his history, his roots, his dreams.
The natural ropes are reminiscent of Yucatán fishing nets, while the cowrie shells and ivory pendants whisper tales of inner wealth, protection, and transmission.
More than just a glass surface, these mirrors are silent accomplices.
In those quiet moments when we catch sight of our reflection, it's not just about seeing ourselves… but about meeting ourselves. An intimate conversation with ourselves: who we were, who we are, and who we are becoming.
Each frame I weave or shape is conceived as a sacred space. A fragment of soul intended to honor your presence.
The Art of Testing and Refinement
"I believe that beauty should never compromise quality."
Nothing is left to chance. I test. Again and again.
I pay attention to every detail — even those that the eye doesn't notice — because I know that true craftsmanship can be felt.
Sometimes, you have to start all over again. It requires a patience I don't always have 😉, but one I'm learning to cultivate. It's a quest for inner peace as much as a creative endeavor.
Then comes the finishing stage: the choice of materials, the packaging, the visual identity, the presentation. Because for me, each creation is a complete experience.
"I think about the experience of opening a handmade object. This collection - like all the others - is not limited to objects. It embodies an atmosphere. A feeling. A story that continues once it leaves my hands to enter your home."
And then what?
On the eve of the launch of “Mirrors to the World”, my heart oscillates between exaltation and fear.
Each mirror carries a part of me, and sharing it with the world is both intimidating and liberating.
What I create is never intended to be contemplated from a distance, but to enter into life, into simple gestures, into moments of calm.
I know one thing: these creations are made to live! To become part of your spaces. To accompany your rituals. To become silent witnesses to your moments of tranquility.
And I can't wait to reveal them to you.
